Fletton Branch Railway Line

The Fletton Branch is now in full ownership of the NVR, the line runs from the connection with the East Coast Main Line at Fletton Junction to Orton Mere where the line joins the NVR. Since taking ownership of the line the NVR has been able to run various special trains along the line, these have included Brake van rides, Photographic Charters and main line workings with locomotives such as Class A1 No 60163 Tornado. The branch also allows the access of main line operators to bring locomotives and rolling stock to the NVR to undertake maintenance and repairs

The Fletton Branch commences at the Network Rail boundary at 0 miles 6 chains and leaves the ECML in a generally westerly direction on a 15 chain right hand curve, then a straight of approximately one mile, before turning on a left hand 20 chain curve to reach the TWO termination at the end–on connection with Nene Valley Railway at Longueville Junction. This end-on connection point is referred to in The Nene Valley Light Railway Order 1977 [SI 1977 No 862].
