Join us on Sat 22nd and Sun 23rd May when we will be reopening the Railway to the public and running trains again

Thomas will be joined back out on the tracks with one of our resident steam locomotives.

Purchase a ticket for our opening weekend and your journey will start when you board the train behind Thomas for a leisurely short trip through the tunnel towards Yarwell, take in the views and watch Thomas run round to reconnect at the other end of the rake to take you back to Wansford Station. Once at Wansford Thomas will say goodbye and one of our larger resident Steam Locomotives will take over control of your carriages and haul you to through the beautiful Nene Valley and our other Station along the line. The train will make a brief stop at Overton Station to pick up a few passengers, then it's onto the City of Peterborough. Unfortunately at this time we are still not able to let you jump on and off the train at our different stations to explore what's to offer, it's just not possible until the Governments Road Map allows us to (should'nt be too much longer). Once at Peterborough Nene Valley Station the train will uncouple to run round to the opposite end of the rake of coaches and take on water if required. Then it's full steam ahead back to Wansford, not forgetting to drop off any passengers at Overton Station who joined you for the trip.

When purchasing your ticket you are purchasing a ticket for a full round trip. If you only wish to join us for the short journey hauled by Thomas this is your choice but your ticket does include the full round trip tp Peterborough, but we do hope you can stay a little longer for the longer trip to Peterborough with our bigger steam locomotive. On your return you can spend a bit of time at Wansford Station taking in the views of a working heritage railway, light refreshments from our pop up kiosk and a chat with our amazing team of volunteers who are always their with a smile (event if under a face covering).

All tickets are to be purchased in advance and seating is fully allocated. Don't forget to bring your face covering, as they are still a requirement on site and while traveling on the train.
