The Jolly Fisherman Presents: A Tribute to Bud Flanagan
Join us for an evening of vintage song and entertainment with a fish and chip supper on board our steam train with the UK’s premier Bud Flanagan tribute act brought to you by Nick Golden.
The evening begins at 6pm when Bud Flanagan, wearing his trademark fur coat and straw hat, takes to the stage and gets the evening started with popular sing-a-long vintage songs to get everyone in the mood. This includes the much-loved theme song to ‘Dad’s Army’, and we’ll also have the pleasure of a special guest star during this part of the show – all we’ll say is ‘Don’t panic Mr Mainwaring!’
Following the show, it's time to board the train and depart for Peterborough. On our way along the Nene Valley, Bud will mingle with guests and perform nostalgic 1940’s songs to keep those feet tapping. As we steam away from Peterborough, it’s time to enjoy a fish and chip supper as we head for our western terminus at Yarwell. After a short break for a leg stretch, Bud will round off the evening with a Dad’s Army themed set on board the train before arrival at Wansford where we say our goodbyes at around 9pm.
As this is a themed event, we recommend dressing to impress in your favourite forties outfit and immerse yourself in the atmosphere of a bygone age.
This event starts at Wansford Station. Check in opens at 5.15 pm, with the on-train buffet car open for drinks and light snacks before the show begins at 6pm.
The bar will be available throughout the evening for the sale of alcoholic and soft drinks.
