You will arrive at the Nene Valley Railway's Wansford Station on Friday 1st November 2024 and participate in a short safety briefing by one of our members of staff.
We want you to achieve your wishes and get the most out of capturing some National Coal Board action, so our Class 14 locomotive, disguised as N.C.B. No 4, will be running at the head of our demonstration Goods Train consisting of four Hoppers and a Brake Van throughout this event, all suitably weathered to recreate the environment of a colliery. This opportunity takes place mainly around Wansford Station. However, with the agreement of all participants, we may venture just outside the station limits to capture shots on the Castor Straight and track close to Wansford Tunnel. There will also be cameos at Wansford alongside the engine sheds and carriage shed to give an industrial feel, as well as on shed in Wansford Yard.
This charter begins at 9am with a briefing and then photography from 10am. Our café will also be open for you to purchase food and refreshments while you are with us.
The Cost
The whole package is priced at £75.00 per person.
Considerations
The environment of a Heritage Railway can be physically demanding and so a reasonable level of fitness is required to participate in this course.
On the grounds of health and safety, we unfortunately cannot accept any participants under the age of 18 years.
Sturdy footwear is essential, such as shoes or boots, due to the terrain.
The locomotive for the event will be Class 14 No 9529 disguised and weathered to be N.C.B. No 4. Please be aware that, in the unlikely event the locomotive develops a fault, this may result in short-notice cancellation of this event. If this is the case, the event will either be rescheduled or payment refunded if the fault is prior to the start of the event.
