Join us for an Evening of Steam & Festive Cheer on Sat 9th Dec or Sat 16th Dec

Join us on the either the 9th or 16th of December for a relaxing steam-hauled journey, with drinks and festive nibbles served onboard culminating in live music where passengers are encouraged to join in with the carols.

Your evening begins when you arrive at our main station of Wansford. PE8 6LR - Check-in opens 6:15pm
You’ll be greeted by one of our fine steam locomotives, simmering gently in the moonlight, basking in the glow from the luxury European coaches behind. The coaches you will be travelling in for the evening have seen service all over Europe and one has even been in the legendary Film - Murder on the Orient Express!

At 19:00 sharp, our steam locomotive will leave Wansford, pulling its heavy train into the frosty night. Although outside it will be cold, inside the coaches will be warm with festive cheer and gentle steam heating! Santa will be on board and will be walking through the train whilst you travel to and from Peterborough to say hi and wish you all a Merry Christmas. He won't be in his Grotto giving out presents but he does have a little festive keepsake gift for each booking. Your gift will be on your reserved table ready for when you board the train. Any child aged 0 to 15 on board will also receive an unwrapped Christmas Gift from Father Christmas as he walks through the train to say hello to everyone.

Your festive nibbles and drinks bottle of choice will be ready and waiting for you on your reserved table/compartment for when you board the train, so the festivities can commence straight away. Extra drinks can be purchased from our on-train bar which is located in our St. Nicholas Lounge in coach A. 

As the drinks are pouring, the engine's fire will be roaring, pulling you towards one of our intermediate stations, Overton. Look carefully as we pass through Overton station and you will see a delightfully decorated platform. We will return for a closer look later!

We will pull into the centre of Peterborough at around 19:35 where the engine will fill it's water tanks and turn around. You can view the train from the platform or stay in the toasty coaches and soak in the atmosphere.

At approximately 19:50, the train will return to Overton where we have one more treat in store! 
A choir/singer will be performing Christmas carols on the platform for the exclusive entertainment of all passengers on the train. You are encouraged to alight the train here and enjoy the music on the platform, savouring the ambience as steam and sweet music fill the Station, as you are served a glass of mulled wine and a warm mince pie.

Around 20:30 we will re-join the train for the short journey back to Wansford, arriving back at approximately 20:50.

Tables are limited so if you are wanting to enjoy a unique evening experience then make sure you book soon!

This evening experience is aimed towards customers aged 12 and over (alcohol will only be served to customers over the age of 18, ID maybe requested). But all ages are welcome to join us.

An admin fee will be applied for any booking amendments after purchase.
