The Nene Valley Model Railway Group was formed in 1998 and currently occupies a BR Mk2e FO Intercity coach based at Wansford Station in Platform 4. It took around 4 years to bring the Model Railway up to a "scenic presentable standard". The Model Railway is still being improved and there is still a lot of scenic work to be done on the layout, although about 99% of the layout is complete. However, some of the buildings, ballast and grass are original and date back to the early 2000s, so a considerable amount of this needs to be improved or replenished. We also often need to replace points and point motors. Our rolling stock needs regular maintenance and we have plans to construct a small workshop within the coach to help facilitate this. And finally, our BR Mk2e is in need of remedial works to repair windows, fix leaks in the roof and carry out a repaint. Like most areas of the Nene Valley Railway, we welcome donations as they are key in in helping to maintain and improve the layout.
If you can do, please gift aid your donation. Donating through Gift Aid means we can claim an extra 25p for every £1 you give. You can find out more on the government website here.
