Membership And Volunteering
New Members, please read below for information
If you have an interest in railways, become a member of the Nene Valley Railway.
Membership is Annual with renewals due during January of each year.
Please be aware that some of the roles require a level of fitness and that you are over 21 due to the role being Safety Critical. General volunteering is for those aged 18 years and over.
The advantages include:
- An interesting magazine on NVR related topics published every three months - "Nene Steam"
- 50% Travel concessions: Except Special Events and Santa Travel
- Free train travel for working members on production Membership Card/NVR Badge when on duty
- The opportunity to become a working member and help us to run the railway line.
Nearly all of the people that you will see operating the railway are volunteers - from the engine driver to the person serving in the shop. Some jobs may require a period of training. One thing is for certain, you will enjoy your time with us and make some great, new friends.

Joint/Family: £60
Junior: £6 - Membership Only
Senior (65+): £24
Joint Senior (65+): £36
Life: £474.00
Joint Life: £678.00
If you live overseas a supplement of £20 needs to be added to the above prices. Please note that the membership cannot be processed on the same day. The membership secretary will post out memberships within a few days.
