A Magical Christmas Adventure Begins...

Join us at Nene Valley Railway for a festive experience like no other – the return of our much-loved Christmas at the Railway! Climb aboard for a heartwarming adventure full of sparkle, surprises and festive cheer, perfect for the whole family.

Join Nene Valley Railway this festive season on our magical Santa's Reindeer Rescue and help Santa prepare for the big day.

Santa's Reindeer Rescue

• Start the magic with the cheerful elf duo, Crackle and Pop, whose songs and cracker jokes will lift everyone's spirits.
• Then it's off through the candy cane forest where you'll meet Bramble, the North Pole’s newest Stable Master! There’s just one problem … the reindeers' magic is missing, and Bramble needs your help to save Christmas!
• Once the magic is restored, head to the Elves’ Workshop and make your very own reindeer food to sprinkle around on Christmas Eve.

A Visit with Santa

Now’s your chance to select your preferred seating and choose how you'd like to meet Santa.

Private Compartments (for up to 6)
With this exclusive option, instead of visiting Santa in his grotto, he will visit you in your private compartment, where he will hand deliver a gift for each child to take home!

All compartments include:

• A festive platter (Standard or Vegetarian) served at your table:
   Standard: Turkey & cranberry sauce, stuffing and lettuce sandwich, Pigs in blankets, Festive sausage rolls, Festive brownies, Mince pies, no drinks included
      Vegetarian: Brie & cranberry sauce, stuffing and lettuce sandwich, Festive cheese twists, Vegan sausage rolls, Festive brownies, Mince pies, no drinks included
      Additional Food: If you require additional food (including accommodating special dietary requirements), this can be ordered directly from our caterers once your booking has been placed.
• In your compartment you can add up to 2 additional children (up to 2 years) sat on laps and 1 additional child (3 to 15 years) or adult (additional fee applies). This must be done at the point of booking.

Per Person – Standard Open Seating
With this option, you'll find Santa waiting in his magical grotto, ready to thank you for helping to save Christmas. Each child will receive a special early festive gift to take home — an ideal moment to snap a photo with the big man himself!

After your visit, collect any pre-ordered food and board the train. Food for open seating can be pre-ordered from Tea and the Gang once your tickets are booked.

• Seating is arranged at tables of 4.
• Larger groups will be split across multiple tables.
• If your party has fewer than 4 people, the extra seats at your table will remain unoccupied.
• You will not be seated with other groups.

The Magical Train Journey

Step aboard our heritage train from Wansford Station for a return journey to Peterborough and back, filled with festive cheer. Expect festive songs and laughter from our onboard elves as you roll through the wintry countryside. If you would prefer a quieter time on board, we would suggest booking a private compartment or booking onto our quiet train service which will run on Wednesday 17th December.

Food

Per Person – Standard Open Seating does not include food, but you can pre-order delicious festive food boxes from our catering partner, Tea and the Gang, after booking your event tickets. Choose from pigs in blankets, festive sandwiches, nibbles, and more.
Private compartment bookings include a festive platter which will be in your compartment before the train departs, but you can also pre-order extra food to be collected from the platform if you wish. This may also be an option if anyone in your party has special dietary requirements not covered by the food already included in your ticket. Additional food items will not be in your compartment and will need to be collected from Platform 2.

Once you have booked and paid for your event tickets, you will then be provided with a link to Tea and the Gang's website where you can purchase your food. This link will appear on screen and will also be in your booking confirmation email.

It is important when purchasing your food that you provide the correct date, time and booking reference for your booking in the notes section of the order form. You will collect your food from Platform 2 before you board the train.

Food orders must be placed no later than 4 days before your date of travel. Orders after this time may not be accommodated.

Quiet Day – Wednesday 17th December

For those who prefer a calmer festive experience, Nene Valley Railway offers a gentler version of our much-loved Christmas at the Railway. Join us on Wednesday 17th December for the same magical adventure, with sparkle, surprises, and festive cheer, but in a quieter, more relaxed environment.

Step aboard our heritage train from Wansford Station for a return trip to Peterborough, with onboard elves providing songs and laughter. The Quiet Day offers a gentler pace, with reduced crowd sizes, perfect for those with sensory sensitivities.

We welcome school groups on the Quiet Day! Trips can be booked online or via our office, with arrangements for seating and group management to suit your needs.
