Torquay is called the English Riviera due to its mild climate and beautiful coastal scenery, which reminded visitors of the French Riviera during Victorian times. The name stuck and is now used to describe the wider Torbay area, encompassing Torquay, Paignton, and Brixham, the Great Western Railway provided steam trains to Torquay transporting passengers to the English Riviera. Orient Express Restaurant Car (1927) – A beautifully restored original carriage built in Italy for the legendary train - on display in Platform 3
