The Friends was set up 7 years ago to raise funds for the many projects needing to be undertaken but are not big enough to have their own fund raising campaign. During that time it has helped with projects for the café, wagon refurbishment, new shed mess hut, children's play area and electrical test facilities. We need more help to support projects in the pipeline and new schemes will need help as further modernisation and refurbishment projects get under way. We can only do this work if we have the money and a small amount donated each month soon builds up into a meaningful sum so that more projects can be helped. Donors will be kept informed of progress through a regular newsletter and if we can generate sufficient new members we plan to hold a "Friends Day" when subscribers will be able to visit parts of the railway not usually made available and some may even enjoy a footplate ride. None of this is possible without your support so please download a standing order form as below and send it to the Friends at the main Wansford office and don't forget to sign the Gift Aid Declaration if you are eligible as this increases the value of your donation by 25%.
