Night Mail Pie & Postal Express

A unique evening of heritage rail travel, traditional pies, and hands-on Travelling Post Office history!

On Saturday, 5th July 2025, step aboard our vintage train, hauled by the mighty Class 45 'Royal Tank Regiment' (45041), for a two-hour evening journey through the picturesque Nene Valley. Enjoy a freshly prepared pie supper, explore the Travelling Post Office (TPO) carriages, and take part in hands-on postal activities as you learn how mail was moved by rail.

Arrive at Wansford at least 30 minutes before departure to make the most of your experience—grab a drink from our onboard bar, explore the TPO carriages, and get involved in some early postal sorting before the train departs!

Your Evening Includes:

• A Scenic Round Trip – Travel behind Class 45 (45041) through the Nene Valley, taking in the serene countryside as the sun begins to set.
• Delicious Pie Supper – Enjoy a freshly prepared pie from Fryz of Bretton, served onboard with chips and your choice of peas or gravy. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available.
• Onboard Bar – A selection of drinks will be available for purchase throughout the journey.
• Interactive TPO Experience – Arrive early to explore the TPO carriages before departure and then take part in hands-on mail sorting activities during the journey, just as postal workers once did on Britain’s railways.
• Historic Locomotive – Experience the power of Class 45 (45041), a British Rail workhorse from the 1960s. These locomotives were commonly seen on both passenger and freight services.
